Hear tales of tragedy and misfortune of Canberra’s early pioneers. And what happened to the church that once stood amongst the graves? It can’t just vanish into thin air, can it? Oh, and we best not mention what happens when the sun sets. That’s for you to find out.

Roadworks will soon commence widen the adjoining William Hovell Drive into 4 lanes, so this could be your last ever chance to experience the relative tranquillity of this unique bush graveyard.

Tours limited to just 14 people.

Time: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Important notes:
Wear sturdy shoes and bring a bottle of water and a torch. A good level of fitness is required for this tour as it involves walking a total of 1.5km on steep and uneven ground. There are no seats or shelter at the cemetery. Tour departs from the Tanumbarini Street playground on the corner of Tanumbarini and Mainoru Streets, Hawker at 7pm so don’t be late.
